I chose Animas because of numerous amounts of reasons. For one, I have always been in the normal school districts where the teachers just try to make sure they teach you everything the district wants them to whether you understand or not. These schools I attended were always big and I liked the idea of a smaller learning community. Another thing that intrigued me was the idea of project based learning, since I've always been taught out of the text book. Since I am a visual learner sometimes it was hard for me to get the concept of ideas but now at Animas it is much easier. The teacher student relationship is nice because if I have any questions or concerns I feel like I'm open to ask or email them. In addition, the school wants you to have pride in your work so if you feel like you need an extension in order to make your best work they will give you that instead of setting deadlines you have to reach no matter the way your project looks like in the end. It inspires me to better when we have a reason to do a project instead of it just doing it for homework. Here, we are not only learning but also sharing it with others.
